Sellers given a choice will most often choose the least risky offer from buyers. There are many unknown risks associated with a prospective buyers offer with a contingency of the sale their property.
There are a couple options for Buyers to consider. Possibly the best option in this instance is for the buyers to bridge the financing, and make a non-contingent offer by taking out a short-term loan. The risk with this procedure is that Buyers can't know for sure how much their home will sell for. (Also, if it's possible to keep the home and use it as a rental property, this is always an option to consider if possible.)
The next option is to ask for a rent back from the buyers of your home. A rent back allows you to rent your present home from the new buyer, usually at the cost of their new mortgage payment. This would be a short-term fix provided the new owners have a place to live, this option is rarely done in a low-inventory market such as now.
